Due to the rise of Covid/Omicron cases the GDOGC will meet via Zoom for our Sunday, January 23, 2022 meeting at 3:00pm.  Mailchimps will be sent out with the Zoom link so look for this in your email soon.   Our program  will be presented by Heather Rinaldi of the Texas Worm Ranch.

Heather will speak to us about worm composting and it's role in providing nutrient rich compost for our gardens.

In an interview with, Heather spoke about her background and why she began worm composting:

"I grew up in Northern Oklahoma.  That is major farm and ranch country, so I am a country girl who grew up with all kinds of livestock. My parents and grandparents always had huge gardens, and as soon as I had my own home, the first improvement was putting in a vegetable garden. As a mother, I didn’t want my children playing on chemicals in the yard, and my husband and I immediately began doing all of our yard, landscaping, and vegetable gardening organically. I am an organic gardener, and approached vermicomposting as an experiment to see if I could be a better and more affordable organic gardener."
