I did not start gardening until I bought my house in 1986.    It was an older home with an established garden.   I learned to garden by touring public gardens around the state and through gardening programs, many of them presented by the Dallas County Master Gardeners.

I helped start the Rainbow Garden Club North Texas in 1992 and ever since then I have been active in gardening.   I am currently President of the Rainbow Garden Club North Texas, member of the Iris Society of Dallas, Texas Daffodil Society, and treasurer of the Texas Daffodil Society and the Dallas Council of Garden Clubs.  I am the Social Media Chairman for Texas Garden Clubs and the South-Central Region.

In my small urban garden, I grow a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and even tomatoes.

After I retired, I had some free time, so I joined the Texas Daffodil Society.   It was a year before the American Daffodil Society National Convention in Dallas in 2020.    The convention was the first time I participated in a Daffodil Flower Show.   I had grown daffodils for many years but did not have any idea what I was doing.  I have learned a lot in the last few years and what to share some of the knowledge with you.

The Texas Daffodil Society is in the only American Daffodil Society (ADS) club in Texas.  We have members all over Texas and even Louisiana.   The have an ADS & NGC small flower show every March.  In 2025, the show will be held the 6th-8th of March, at the Dallas Arboretum.
